Having a good week :)

We set up a fundraising page to donate money to the ward Karagh is attending. Cant believe how generous people are! Just goes to show there are decent people out there. But unfortunatley there are some cruel heartless people also. Came across a video on youtube of a woman slagging off children with cancer! How bloody dare she.. Makes me so angry! I hope she gets whats coming to her..

Karagh had a blood transfusion this week because her red cells were low. She has more energy now thank god :) my little chicken she's such a trooper.

Myself & Keith went on the radio the other morning to talk of Karagh's story & to raise awareness about NB. We got great feed back from it and it really got us motivated to start pur fundraising. Also the local newspaper called to our house today and we done an interview with them an had a family picture taken. Am looking forward to seeing it & reading it on Wednesday..

  1. hi Sarah, your blog just is almost word for word my first year with my first daughter it was a different illness rare blood disorder but it involved chemo and a freddie blood checks basically everything you have said below. Lara was 13 weeks when I sat in that little doctors room I was so niave I should have realised something was wrong when 2 consultants came in. ill never forget the day she got her freddie in I was so shocked at how big it was I think I expected something tgr size of a straw not this big white tube and the lil freddie vests. I live in port too and them friday drives for bloods I use to make it as far as the bog road and cry the length of it. Lara is 4 now and is doing great now I could never imagine her been 4 and in playschool but she is. since I read your story there is not a day I haven't thought of uou and baby karagh and what a beautiful baby she is sending you all my love and yoys will remain in my thoughts x

  4. Keep going Sarah, you're doin' it. Everything you have to do. You will make a difference. For Karagh, for the next baby, for yourself. Proud of you--you've come such a long way in such a short time. Glad to know Karagh is doing good right now and thinking of her (and you) for next week.

  5. Another heart breaking story from the St. Johns ward....our home away from home for many months. My little boy was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma a rare tumour in the liver that only occurs in children under 5 (1:1million chance) he was only 11months old. Kids are so brave they put us adults to shame. Chemo, freddies, blood transfusion, platlet trasfusions.....we've been there too many times. After 5months of intense chemotherapy the only option left was a liver transplant and we are grateful he got that opportunity in April 2010. At last after 2years and 3months he's getting his freddies out on Friday! Sarah and family keep positive stay stronge its the only way you can both get throught it :) Best wishes to you Xxxx
